UHF Telemetry
GME has recognised the need in both rural industry and
local government for a simple, robust telemetry system which
can provide cost effective remote control and monitoring
facilities. The GME Telemetry System features a range of
innovative software and hardware products with a high level
of system integrity. The status of remote sites can be monitored
continously with audible and visual alarms raised for any
change in conditions. Commands can be sent to control outlying
equipment at any time. The system can eliminate the need
for personnel to make time consuming visits to outlying
stations.
The GME Telemetry System is built around several major
components:
- The TX3600T UHF telemetry transceiver
- A CIU Control Interface Unit
- The 'Super-Vise' control software program
A typical system comprises a Base Station (fixed or
mobile) and a number of outstations with TX3600T transceivers
providing the radio link. The system is controlled at the
Base Station either by the 'Super-Vise' software installed
on a PC or with an RCU3600 remote control display head.
Up to 99 outstations can be controlled and monitored from
a Base Station.
The CIU (Control Interface Unit) provides a protected interface
between the outstation transceiver's ports and any external
sensors or remote control functions. An outstation's CIU
can action up to 8 output commands and accept up to 8 ON/OFF
inputs, of which 4 may be analogue
Use Telemetry to remotely:
- Check flow rates, dam and tank levels, control pumps and
other equipment
- Monitor temperature meters, flow rates, door alarms and
electric fences
- Monitor Solar Panel Systems, voltage and current, battery
supply.

TX3600T |
AK3600 |
 |
 |
| Designed and manufactured to ISO9002 standards the
TX3600T is based on GME's successful range of UHF transceivers.
It has been specifically built to operate in a harsh
environments. |
The AK3600 kit converts a standard TC3600T into a
conventional talk through radio. It is specifically
designed to provide a voice channel to assist in the
setting up and operation of remote telemetry installations
and provide communication links to outlying monitoring
locations. |
RCU3600 |
CIU8/CIU4 |
 |
 |
| The RCU3600 is a 4 x 20 character Remote Control Display
Head designed to be connected to a TX3600T for use in
the control and monitoring of the GME Telemetry System
when a dedicated PC is not in use. The RCU3600 can be
used in conjunction with the Super-Vise software as
a secondary control point in a vehicle. The unit provides
for basic functions in interrogating and controling
inputs and outputs and decoding of alarms from outstations. |
Housed inside a weatherproof plastic case the CIU
is designed as an interface between the TX3600T and
external wiring. The built in opto-isolation feature
protects the CIU and TX3600T from voltage transients
and external sensor failure. The state of the inputs
and outputs is indicated by individual LEDs. |
